English Tourism Week 2022

Along with our friends and partners we are excited for this year’s English Tourism Week as it gives us all the chance to showcase our historic city, region and beautiful surrounding area.

Newcastle upon Tyne is famous for its friendliness and ‘Geordie Welcome’ to visitors, and we are fortunate to live and work in one of the most historic and scenic parts of the UK. With the city just 20 minutes from award-winning coastlines, castles, and the UNESCO World Heritage site at Durham we find that many conference visitors like to extend their stay beyond the event they are attending.

We are proud of what we have to offer and work closely with our local convention bureau, NewcastleGateshead Initiative (NGI) to offer visitors preferential rates on local hotels, advice on local attractions, bars, and restaurant recommendations as well as information on travelling to and around the region.

You will be surprised just how connected we are in Newcastle. With an international airport just outside the city centre and train times from London now under 3 hours it really is easy visit us. Working with LNER we can make your journey more worthwhile with guest discounts on train tickets for delegates travelling to events and conferences at Northumbria University on the East Coast Main Line.

We would love to welcome you to the Northeast and we’re ready to answer any questions and give any advice you need.

For any questions please email venues@northumbria.ac.uk.
