Getting around Tyne and Wear

Newcastle has extensive local bus services, with operator including Go North East, Arriva, QuayLink & Stage Coach. 

​

Haymarket is a great place to start if you're looking for bus services within the Tyne and Wear and Northumberland. 

​

You can also make the most of the national bus links with operators like Mega Bus and National Express linking with the South and Scotland. 

Getting to Northumbria via Bus

Northumbria University by Bus

Central Station

10 minutes

From bus stop H on Clayton Street, take the number 62 bus to New Bridge Street.

 

This will drop you just outside New Bridge Street Accommodation and just a 2 minute walk from the Business & Law Building.

The Coast

35 minutes

Services by Arriva and Go North East like the 309 & 310 run every 15-20 minutes and connect Newcastle City Centre with most of North Tyneside.

Gateshead

3-5 minutes

Gateshead Interchange, accessible via Gateshead Metro Station is great option for those wanting to explore South Tyneside.
